Beach

Castles Of Sand
Squawking gulls soar,
Waves crash on the shore.
Sky of blue;
Water, too.
A shovel, a pail,
A boat with a sail.
And, from my hand
Rise castles of sand.
By Janelle
Hand In Hand
How sweet they look
Standing in the sand
Side by side
And hand in hand.
My heart is so full
That I think it must be
Storing this precious memory
For all eternity!
Like A Rock
The ocean is vast and beautiful
As is the sand upon the shore.
The sunset with its beauty
Makes me admire it even more.
The ocean waves may come in and out
And the sand may drift away
But from sunrise until sunset
The rocks on the shore will stay.
The rocks are strong and steady
And unmoved by wnd or rain
They will be there months or years from now
When we go to the shore again.
Like the shoreline changes with time
Our bodies will change and age
As we live and learn and grow
And act upon life's stage.
But new inner strength and beauty takes the place
Of the outer beauty once there to adore
As we stand firm and strong in our convictions
Steady like the rocks upon the shore.
On God's Shore
The Ocean is so very big
And I'm so very small.
Isn't it a wonder that
God Knows us one and all?
The sky is oh so big and blue
And seems to never end.
Isn't it a special thing
That God gives us good friends?
The sand is soft between my toes
And squishy when it's wet.
Isn't it just way too neat
That God gave us dogs for pets?
If my mind seems to wander
Remember that I'm young
And in God's mighty plan for things
I've only just begun!!!
For here I stand so all alone
Upon God's mighty shore
And even tho I'm just a babe
He could not love me more!
On The Shore
Just my shadow and me
Alone on the beach.
Hundreds of seashells
Just within reach.
Waves come in
To tickle my toes
Then just a quickly
Away each one goes...
Someday when I'm older
I'll understand more
But for now I love being
A kid on the shore!
The Wonder Of It All
I stand in awe before you, Lord
As I watch my child at play.
How precious is each action
And each each word I hear him say.
I know that as You look down on us
We are so very small.
Yet,You know each tiny grain of sand
And by name you know us all!
Lord, though my child seems small to me
As he stands upon your shore,
I know that were he ten feet tall-
You could not love him more.
I cannot even fathom Lord,
How great your love must be
But I know that it is greater still
Than the vastness of your sea.
I stand in humble reverence Lord
As I watch my child in play
And know that you watch over me
In much the self same way!
And so I say a prayer of thanks
Dear Lord of earth and sea
For all the loving care you give
To both my child and me.
