Decoupage

Here's the working girls, I'm too busy method

1. Glue (type doesn't matter, some use the modge podge liquid itself)
or stamp whatever you want onto the base you'll be using
such as:
-various scraps of paper or pictures on an altoid tin.
-stamp on a paper mache' box or container.
-any type of stamped image, pictures or scraps on a ceramic
tile.
-paint the item first then add images of any sort.
-decorate the outside of a tin to make an album in a tin.

2. Lightly sand surface with fine sandpaper to flatten any rough
edges, also gives a bit of a worn look. This step isn't necessary
all the time and you may like the look without this step. Wipe off
any sanding residue. Coat with a layer of modge podge liquid. You
can use a paint brush for a more vintage look as you'll be able to
see the brush marks when it dries or use a foam brush and you'll
have less brush stroke marks.

3. Let dry completely.

4. Lightly sand with fine sandpaper. However if you want a more
vintage look in the end, skip the sanding.

5. Dust off the sanded residue and apply another coat of modge podge
and let dry completely again.

6. Lightly sand with a fine grade of steel wool pad, again remember
not to sand if going for a vintage look.

7. Dust off the sanded residue and apply a 3rd coat of modge podge
and let dry completely.

8. Lightly sand with an ultra fine grade of steel wool pad. If using
the sanding method you'll notice that the surface starts to become
glossier as you apply coats of modge podge & sand with finer &
finer grits of sanding material. You can also get a buffing pad to
make surface ultra glossy if you like, the kind you wax your car
with will work great. Your done now if you want the glossy look.

9. If going for the more vintage look so that the brush strokes are
more evident, you can either leave it the way it looks or take it
one step further and apply some vintage type inks and rub it into
the surface then wipe it off. The ink will stay in the creases and
brush strokes and make the item look more aged. Give it a final
sealing with modge podge and let dry completely and your done!

*Here's a little frugal tip for you-if you don't have any vintage type inks apply brown shoe polish to the surface and use it the same way as the ink, just wipe on and wipe off and seal.

Good luck with your project!!!!
