December 2006

December Fun Stuff To Do!! All ideas submitted by Jeanine (moosassah)! Thanks, Jeanine!

December is a very busy month for many of us with holiday parties and traveling. Try to remember to take some time this month to sit and enjoy your family.

Watch the Grinch Who Stole Christmas on t.v. with the commercials--make it a game where everyone has to do something when they say "Who" like put their hands on their head. Use the commercial breaks to bring in a special treat--hot chocolate with green marshmallows or cookies. Silly? Absolutely, but the kids will have a lot of fun.

Snuggle up and read a book with your family. We read Mickey's Christmas carol and a few other holiday books. The quiet time is truly special.

Take advantage of the snow. Go to a park & look for animal tracks. Stick your tongue out & catch some flakes. Pretend you're a kid & go down the hill backwards on your sled. Wear goofy hats with pride! Winter can be fun, but you have to be willing! Don't forget to pack the thermos of hot chocolate.

December 7 ~ Letter Writing Day. Many of us have forgotten how to write a real letter with texting and emails taking over. Take the time today to pull out a pen & write a letter. Mail it to a friend or use it in your scrapbook.

December 15 ~ Hanukkah begins at sundown. Happy Hanukkah enjoy your family & celebrations.

December 18 ~ National Bake Cookies Day. Were you thinking about making some cookies for the holidays? Let the kids put on their aprons & get messy. It'll make a great LO & you can use your pictures as gift tags for cookie bundles that you share with friends & family.

December 21 ~ Look on the Bright Side Day. Here's another day to remind you that scrapbooking doesn't always have to be perfect. Sometimes scrapping the events that happen in life that aren't so great, bad even, will help you through things. Something good can come out of everything.

December 24 ~ National Egg Nog Day. Whether you make it from scratch or pour it right out of the carton, egg nog is a Christmas staple. Sketch up a layout focusing in on your family's love for holiday traditions. Remember to get great pictures of inanimate objects. Go for different angles--the empty cup, the carton, a plate full of cookies close up. These pictures will capture the little things that make traditions important to your family. They will light up your layouts too.

December 25 ~ Merry Christmas! Enjoy your day with your family. Remember how to use your timer so you can get in the pictures too!

December 27 ~ Make Cut Out Snowflakes Day. If you saved wrapping paper, here's your excuse to use it. If not, there's always your scrap bin. Decorate your windows with tons of snowflakes & let Mother Nature know that you care.

December 28 ~ Card Playing Day. This could be a very fun layout. Uno, Go Fish, Poker, Solitaire--the games are endless and so is the fun.

December 28 ~ National Chocolate Day. Why this day only occurs once a year I'll never know! Celebrate it to the fullest!!!!

December 31 ~ New Year's Eve. Time to work on those 2007 resolutions. Put them in a LO and leave room to update it as you accomplish them or decide otherwise!
