July Fun Stuff To Do!! All ideas submitted by Jeanine (moosassah)! Thanks, Jeanine!
The first week of July is most likely filled with more photo opportunities than your camera can handle. Make sure your batteries are charged up, film & flashcards are ready etc. Read up on taking pictures at night or special features for taking photos of fireworks. Check out your local papers for parades, fairs, carnivals, re-enactments & plays and of course fireworks! Remember your sunscreen & bug spray & you should have a great time!
July. 1 ~ International Joke Day. The perfect way to enter a month...laughing. Put on the Comedy Channel and scrap yourself silly all day long!
July 3 ~ Independence Day observed & for the lucky members of the working world this SHOULD be a day off making it a 4 day weekend!
July 4 ~ (Tuesday) Independence Day. As if you haven't had enough celebrating over the weekend, we got one more night of fireworks this year! Get out your red, white & blue & party!
July 7 ~ Chocolate Day. I don't need any other excuse to eat it, do you?
July 7 ~ Father Daughter Take a Walk Day. Check out your local parks and go for a stroll. Maybe you live near the ocean or a pond worthy of some down time, searching for critters. Don't forget the camera on this one. There are few photos more precious than a kid having a great moment with dad.
July 10 ~ Teddy Bear Picnic Day. Grab the blanket & bologna. Don't forget the soda & tea cups. Let the kids pick the park and have some fun. I personally give you permission to extend the invitation to dolls and "action figures" as my boys refer to their manly dolls.
July 13 ~ Embrace you Geekness Day. Do you ever feel like you are a total geek? Relish in it baby! Today is all about you and all your quirks. You're such a Geek. But what makes you that way??? Please get out your supplies and show the world your geekiness in a LO!!
July 15 ~ Be a Dork Day. Offended by the word "Geek". How about Dork? Are you a Dork? Maybe you're such a geek that you're also a dork. A dorky-geek. Either way, there are 2 whole days to take pleasure in thick rimmed glasses, weird socks & any other bizarro things that make us love you.
July 15 ~ Cow Day. This day is about loving cow. Don't go cow tippin! Time to think black & white again. Have you ever scrapped in black & white? Well? Get a mooooooove on & give it a try.
July 16 ~ National Ice Cream Day. Apparently some of those cows got tipped last night. We've got ice cream! It's a National holiday. Not something made up by Hood or Breyers. You really need to take the kids out for a treat. Bring your camera & come up with some fun shots for a LO.
July 21 ~ National Junk Food Day. All the public schools are trying to get healthier. Battling the buldge. Not today! Go ahead have a coke with those twinkies.
July 23 ~ Parents' Day. I'm not sure, but I think this means that parents get the day off. I'm not even looking into it any further because I'm really looking forward to not "working" today. I may be eating microwaved hot dogs all day, but I'm letting the kids do it all! You should too.
July 27 ~ Take Your Pants for a Walk Day. It might take a choke collar to get you out the door. Or maybe you're the type who bolts the second the door cracks open. Today is about getting outside. If outside is pushing it too far, how about parking your car at the far end of the lot & high tailing it to the LSS? Just be sure to do at least 4 laps up & down the aisles so you've completed the requirments of the day ;).
July 30 ~ National Cheesecake Day. Now I could be wrong about this, but I think it means the following: 1) get a babysitter if necessary, 2) go out to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory (or appropriate cheesecake-serving restaurant) 3) skip dinner & order dessert.
