A Stitch In Time

You got a booboo
And needed a stitch or two
I was so worried
About how you would do.

But you didn't cry and you didn't fret
But you smiled so sweetly
That once again you did it
You melted my heart completely!

Bruises

It's the strangest thing
That ever I've seen--
I woke up this morning
And I was green!
I was black and blue
And purple too
And my Mommy said
"Oh look at you!"

She said that bruises
Always go away
And I won't always look this way
But for all the days in between....

It won't be easy being GREEN!

My Hero

I'm always so proud of you
But especially so today.
I know that it wasn't easy
But you were a brave soldier all the way!

You faced each doctor and each nurse
All the technicians and even worse
With such a wonderful attitude
That my heart was bursting with gratitude.

This day will soon just be a memory
In a long list of your days that will be
But in this heart of mine, it is the day
That you became a hero to me!

Through Tears

I watched as you so bravely
Went through all the pain.
I knew you must be frightened
But you never said a thing!

You were so grown up
And handled your surgery so fine
Oh yes, there were lots of tears...
but they were mine!
