By The Window

Sitting by the window
Face against the pane
I feel it once again
That heart wrenching pain.

I think of all the loved ones
That I miss today
And I ask the Father why
They had to go away.

I miss them sometimes so much
And the pain hits as if brand new
And I search for something in God's Word
That will tell me what to do.

And there I find my comfort
As if I hold His hand
And I know that someday I'll see them all
And then I'll understand.

Would I wish them back again
As mortals here below?
If God would ask me if I would
My answer would be "no".

For though it may be painful
To miss them as I do
My greatest comfort Lord
Is knowing they're with you!

Can't Stop Crying (Columbia Space Shuttle)

I can't stop crying Lord
Can you make the pain go away?
Another tradegy has hit
On our precious earth today!

We watched in awe and wonder
As the shuttle hit the skies above
And planned to welcome heroes home
With hearts full of pride and love

But today the worst has happened
And 7 souls were lost to flame
As the Columbia was shattered
When it hit the earth again.

There are now 7 new saints in Heaven
And that each is precious to you we know
But, Lord there are weeping families here
In whose hearts there is now a hole.

Please wrap your arms around those weeping
And give them your loving care
And remind each child of yours on earth
To rememeber them in prayer.

My eyes are filled with tears
And my heart is filled with pain
But I know that when eternity comes
We will all be reunited again.

Dear Friend

Dear Friend I miss you
My heart is broken
And even though I promised not to cry...
I confess that I have and I will yet...
Because of a wonderful friendship
That I will never forget.

You filled my life with laughter
And my day with joy and fun
We had a friendship that
Had life been perfect
Would have only just begun!

We should have had years to enjoy each other's laughter
And bask in the light of fun that comes right after
A silly chat online and silliness that had
No reason or rhyme....

Yes I will cry and shed sweet tears of sorrow
But I will shed tears of joy come tomorrow
As I remember thankfully
All of the joy that our friendship brought to me!

Perhaps the realization that our friendship
Could possibly come to an abrupt end
Broke down all of the barriers that
Sometimes can distance friends....

Perhaps God knew that you and I
Needed in this moment to be friends and that is why
Even though the time seemed short to me
He was fitting us to be forever friends
In His Eternity....

Friends (Memorial For A Dog)

We did everything together
From the time we were just 'pups'
You were the tiny furry one
And I was your two legged friend.
I never realized that our togetherness
Would someday have to end.

I look back with no regrets
Over the things we did together
We were true blue loyal friends
In sunshine or stormy weather.

Only one regret I had then
And forever will
I regret my precious furry friend
That you are not living still!

Many years have come and gone
And new memories have been made
But still there are sweet thoughts of you and me
Playing outside in sun or shade.

We played hide and seek
And chase the ball
And catch me if you can
And you were my spy dog
To help me find the other kids
When we played ''kick the can''.

No other dog can ever replace
The friend I had in you
Because I learned about your kind of love
I've had other 'friends' follow you.

I've loved them all in a special way
And each one is so unique
I've learned to listen to their hearts
And can almost hear them speak.

And all of this love that has come to me
I owe to you my first furry friend
For having you first in my young years
Made me treasure each loving pet
that God would send.

God's Sunflower

Like a sunflower you grew
Into a strong and wonderful woman,
Sheltering us in the shade of your love.
Nurturing us with warmth from God above.

Your seeds of love and kindness
Were scattered every day
To all of those who knew you
In so many different ways.

Your life was a blessing to one and call
In your roles as friend, neighbor and wife
Your blossom reached out touched us
And in touching us enriched our life

In the soil of our hearts and minds
Your seeds will continue to be sown
And we will remember you forever
Because of all the love you've shown.

And someday when all of us
From this earth have been called away
You will be the most beautiful sunflower
In Heavens wonderful and unique boquet!

I Love You Sister

I love you little sister
Even though you died so long ago
I never got to hold you
And say ''I love you so.''

I never got to teach you
The things big sisters know
I didn't get to tease you
Nor did I get to watch you grow.

But when I get to Heaven
I will run inside the gate
And look for you little sister
Wherever loved ones wait!

Loss Of A Baby

I was pondering today
The words tiny babes might say
If they were taken from the earth
Very close to their moment of birth.

What if they could look here below
And send us a love note to let us know
That they were happy and content
And that their time was not misspent...

''Mommy and Daddy just want you to know
That I realize you love me so
And that you didn't want me to leave
But please don't cry and fret or grieve.

God meant no harm to you or me
But my problems He could see
And knew that in Jesus' arms
Was the best place for me to be.

An angel came and brought me here
And Mommy and Daddy she saw your tears
And even though she did not speak
With her wing she brushed your cheek...

I live in a lovely mansion here
With such a wonderful view
It has a rocking chair and crib
And there's a special room for you!

I know that you won't be here
For a very long long time
But just wanted you to know
That your room is next to mine!

I hope you enjoy your life on earth
And don't worry about me at all
For I have so many friends
And angels on whom I can call!

Sometimes we go outside
And the clouds are rolling by
And I know that you are looking up
And see them in the sky

When you look up on starry nights
And see them so bright and clear
Just know that they are not nearly as lovely
As they look from here!

I love it here and I'm so happy
That Jesus loves me so
And He loves you just as much--
Just wanted you to know!

Well, I must go back now
But remember if you will
That I loved you while in your arms
And I love you still!

Take care dear Mommy and Daddy
And love your lives for me
For I know that our time together
Was so much shorter than
You thought it would be!

Do not rush your life to get here
For I don't mind the wait
And my face will be the first you see
When you enter the Pearly Gates!"

Lovely Day In Heaven

Mr. Rogers has entered Heaven's neighborhood
And I'm sure he's happy there
He will be such a lovely neighbor
And have so much to share.

I'm sure God told the folks
That they were in for a treat
That a special new neighbor was coming
That they would all want to meet.

Of course so many already knew him
And were so ready to say
It's a lovely day in the neighborhood----
Mr. Rogers is moving in today!

Mom's Anniversary

Mom, I celebrate with you today
The wonderful love you had
With the loved one you called husband
And the dear one I called Dad.

I know that it is hard for you
To celebrate this day
Without your sweetheart beside you
Since he was called away.

But know that he is with us
In everything we do
For he lives inside of my heart
And in the heart of you.

So many times I see his face
In the eyesight of my heart
And know that of my very being
He has a noble part.

So celebrate with me today
And I will celebrate with you
The goodness of the Lord above
For the husband He gave you.

Perfect In His Sight

We listened as the doctor told us that you had "Downs"
And we had no idea what that would mean to us or you.
We only knew that we had wanted you
and waited for you
and loved you.

We listened to what the neighbors said when they saw you
and how they sympathized with us that you were not "well"
We only knew that we had brought you home
and needed you to be with us
and that we loved you!

We listened to well meaning friends when we lost you
and how it was better because your health had never been quite right...
We only knew that God in Heaven loved you
and wanted you
and was waiting for you
and you were perfect in His sight.

So Close To Home (Columbia Space Shuttle)

So close to home, Lord
They were so close to home today
When the Columbia broke apart
And took seven souls away.

So close to home, Lord
And to the ones they love
But now they are Home with you Lord
In Your Heaven up above.

So close to home, yes
Close to the ones who waited so happily
But instead they went to Your house
To start their eternity.

Thanksgiving Without Grandmother

Today we celebrate together
All that we mean to each other
And one special and dear blessing is missing
Our beloved Grandmother.

So much of what we are thankful for
We owe to her today
And we will be eternally grateful
For the blessings she brought our way.

We celebrate all of the things
That to us our God has given
Those still with us here on earth
And those who now reside in Heaven!

We Grieve With You

We grieve with you
Because you grieve
And although it won't make
the sadness leave
I hope that it will comfort you
To know your friends are grieving too!

We hurt with you
Because you hurt
And because we love you so.
It won't make the pain go away
But we wanted you to know.

And when you dry your saddest tears
And your heart begins to mend
We will all rejoice to see
Your happy smile again!

When I've Gone To Heaven

My darlings when I've gone to Heaven
And you are sad that I have gone
Lif t up your eyes toward Heaven
And know you are not alone.

I hope that I can look down
From those portals up above
And see my precious family
And all those I dearly love.

I hope there is a balcony
Where mothers gather everyday
To watch their precious children
As they work and as they play.

Perhaps there is a garden
When we can chat about each baby
That we had to leave behind...
I don't know, but maybe....

But just in case there is a place
Where we can glimpse the earth below
Look up toward Heaven daily
And know that I love you so!

Look up toward the bluest skies
And let me see your face
And when you feel the gentle breeze
Consider it my embrace.

You Have A Big Sister

Little boy so sweet and new
I have a story to tell you,
About someone you've yet to meet
A big sister so lovely and sweet.

She would have loved you
So very, very much
And would have smiled at you
And kissed and touched.

She would have cuddled up with you
As only a big sister can do
But alas that was not to be
And will have to wait for eternity.

But know that if it indeed is true
That those in Heaven see what we do
Then from God's Heaven up above
Your sister watches over you in love
