Administer Chocolate
Chocolate is good for you
If you are feeling sad or blue.
If the blues have come to stay
Declare it to be a CHOCOLATE DAY!
Eat some chocolate and you will smile
In just a very little while
Eat some with nuts and some that's plain
And it will take away most pain.
Chocolate is the universal tool
It tastes so good and looks so cool.
You can drink in a cup in the wintertime
And when it's summer cold milk is fine.
If you ever see me looking sad
Over the bad day I've had
I hope that you will send a driver
To rush me a big ole box of Godiva!!
And Then I Cry
Sometimes I get so happy
And I feel so stirred up inside
That before I know it
I've teared up and cried...
Sometimes things get me down
And I get rather depressed
And what do I do about it...
I'll bet you've guessed....
Other times I see the struggles
That my friends are going through
And then before I know it
I've cried for them (or you).
Through happy times or sad times
Good things or rotten stuff
When things are going well
Or when the going's tough...
I guess my emotions
Are bordering on the strange
With one tearful faucet
Covering the whole range...
From supermarket openings
To the worst catastrophe
I can't stop teardrops'
From flowing out of me!!
An Ordinary Bear
I'm just an ordinary bear
But I'm never put away.
For when people see me
They always want to play.
Through the years I've met them all
Kids and grownups too
Who need the love a bear can give
For a teddy bear is true.
A teddy bear is loyal
You can wear his fur right down
From loving him and hugging him
And he won't even frown.
I've had my share of roughies
Who toss me in the air
And pull my legs and pinch me
And pull my teddy fur.
Then there are the older kids
Who pretend that they don't care
But secretly deep inside of them
They want a teddy bear.
A teddy bear is kind
A teddy bear is true.
If you want a special friend
A teddy bear's for you!
So treat your bear with kindness
And love him every day--
'Cause teddy beers are sensitive
In a very special way.
Even when our eyes are gone
And our limbs are ripped part
You find our love is just the same
If you look inside our heart.
Balloon Ride
How wonderful to go up in the air
Feeling free as a bird
Feeling the wind beneath my wings
And listening to the songs that nature sings!
How awesome to look down below
And see the world go by
What a great sensation
Of feeling that I can fly!
I love to go up in the air
And as soon as the descent begins
I know that as great as it is in the air
It is good to touch earth once again!
Blind Date
Do you remember blind dates
From so many years ago?
Do they still have those?
Does anybody know?
I remember walking out
To meet my handsome date
I saw him through the doorway
And I could hardly wait!
His hair was short and dark
And his eyes were black as night.
His shoulders were broad and sturdy
And he was a handsome sight.
Well, I thought to myself
It's not been bad so far
Until he spoke these words...
''Your date is in the car..."
Graphics Woe
One of the saddest tales I know
Is the story of ....Graphics Woe!
You've been there and probably have done
This thing that takes away the fun!
I create a masterpiece of word and art
Put in my wisdom and my heart
To get things perfect and looking so great
Even Picasso would appreciate!
It's getting late and I'm in a hurry
Got to have it done for tomorrow...but not to worry!
It's looking great and like it should
I smile and say "Darn, I'm good!"
I smile to myself and think in my head
I will quit for tonight and go off to bed!
So I turn things off but absentmindly I chose
Not Save as but rather...........close!
OHHHHHHHH Alas and alack and woe is me
I'm an idiot (now you don't have to agree!)
All night long I will have to slave
To get back my masterpiece and
Then REMEMBER TO SAVE!!!!!!!
Hats
I love to go to the hat store
I have lots of hats
But I need some more!
A hat is a wonderful thing to wear
Some of favorites I will share!
These pictures show just how I look
(Pictures that my mommy took)
When I put on a hat each day
To go outside or just to play!
I must admit I know that
I look adorable in a HAT!
I Am Not Messy
To you I might seem messy
And in your mind you see
Things that look like clutter
When you think of me.
It's just that things are so interesting
And I just never have the time
To fully read and enjoy
The latest book or rhyme.
So I place these in a little pile
Close to where I'm sitting
So that when I have the chance
To view them I won't be forgetting.
So I pile it here
And pile some there
You can find interesting goodies
By each favorite chair...
But since my time is limited
And my day moves so very fast
Each pile grows much larger
Before the day is past.
So when when think of my messy desk
And think that I should file it
Don't think of me as messy
But rather as a 'pilot'
(pile it?)
I Lift Your Name In Prayer
I wish that I could help you to heal
If your heart is in deep pain.
I wish I could help to renew your strength
And give you hope again...
I wish I could ease your burdens
Whatever they might be
And take them off of your shoulders
Saying ''Just give them to me.''
I wish that I could comfort you
And heal your hurting heart
Could help you to feel close again
To friends and family so far apart.
I have not the power to do these things
Although your pain I share
But I know the One who can
And so I lift up your name in prayer...
I Love Hats
I love to wear
A hat on my head
It's only bare
When I go to bed!
I love to try
Each different kind
To see which favorite
Will be mine!
I love a cap
With a narrow brim
(Daddy has one
So I look like him!)
I love to try hats
That have some style
(And some that make
My mommy smile!)
Mommy thinks I'm cute
And you can't beat that,
But I'm especially cool
When I wear a HAT
I Love Shoes
I love to wear pretty shoes
On my dainty little feet
Going through Mommy's closet
Is such a niffty treat!
I try on mommy's high heel shoes
And Daddy's are lots of fun
I try on ski shoes or slippers
That you wear out in the sun!
Shoes, shoes, shoes
I love each and every pair
I would have two more feet
If life were only fair!
I'm A Music Lover
I'm a music lover
I listen to music every day
I hear music everywhere--
I hear it in my child at play!
I love music of every kind
As a mother and a wife
I love the sound of living--
The music of daily life.
I love the sound the piano makes
And I love to hear a drum
I love the sound of shoes on the walkway
When I hear my children run!
I love to hear the birds sing
And to hear a doggie bark
I love the sound of giggling kids
Playing in the park.
Oh, yes, I'm a music lover
Altho I can't play a note
I can enjoy the wonderful music
That God through nature wrote!
Many (Posed) Faces Of
Look at you so prettily
Posing for the camera
Which may or may not be
Waiting to snap your photo
At every opportunity!
Look at that smile
On your lovely face
It's as if the camera
Gives you an embrace!
You are so lovely dear friend
Of this there is no doubt
You are a beautiful friend
Inside and out!
Mrs Beasley Doll
I had a doll that became my pal
A very intelligent and older gal!
She never minded being MRS Beasley
And loving her came about so easily!
I always called her by her full name
And with my friend in her little polka dotted dress
The two of us became quite a team
With fun being our daily quest!
Whether stormy days or sunshine
Whether foulest or fairest of weather
Mrs. Beasley, my spectacled friend and I
Would always be found together.
I remember her fondly
And our days so long ago
Mrs. Beasley was a treasured friend and
I still love her, you know!
My Mood
My mood is like the sky,
The sky is blue,
The sky is bright,
I only wish I could see the light.
My mood is like the fog,
The fog is gray,
The fog is white,
The fog, it may dim your sight,
I only wish I could see through the night.
My mood is like the ocean,
The ocean filled of emotion,
The ocean filled of pollution,
I only wish I could see the solution.
My mood is like the snow,
The snow that comes and goes,
The snow that comes but at night,
and gone by daylight,
I only wish I could see now bright.
My Teddy Bear
Once I had a teddy bear
Who seemed so real to me
That I was sure his button eyes
Could really truly see!
For many the years this once fine bear
Through the ravages of time did go
Until his button eyes fell off
And his seams began to show.
But I loved him just as much
As I did when he was new.
And though it may seem silly--
I know he loved me too!
For he was always smiling
Though his fur began to thin
And when I was sad or lonely
I could expect his teddy grin!
There's something special about teddy bears
They are awful brave and smart
And if you ever looked inside---
I'm sure you'd find a heart.
Soda Should Only 'Pop'
I opened up my can of pop
And I heard an awful sound
I thought a cat was in the room
And so I looked around!
It hissed and fizzed and acted strange
And scared me out of my skin
Until it finally stopped
And all was quiet again!
I like my soda to be quiet
And not make a bit of noise
I don't think a hissing sound
Is something anyone enjoys!
So next time when I want a soda pop
Mommy, I will depend on you
To open it up and pour it in a cup
Until all its hissing is through!
The Lighthouse
Looking so majestic and tall
Surrounded by the loveliness of fall
The lighthouse stands until this day
Although its nocturnal duty has been taken away.
The lighthouse is not used today
For it is no longer efficient and modern enough
Though it was thought a marvel
Back when to sail a vessel was tough.
Stormy seas were hazardous
And the lighthouse keeper knew his task
He went routinely about his calling
Never failing never falling.
The lighthouse keeper led a lonely life
Sometimes joined in solitude by family and wife
To share the monumental chore
Of leading ships safely to the shore.
Turmoil upon the sea
Would cause such wreckage and despair
If the lighthouse beacon were not seen
Or if the keeper were not there.
Today we owe a debt of gratitude
To those keepers of the light
Who blessed the ocean going vessel
With the beam of welcome light!
Trains
Oh what fun to ride a train
In the sun or in the rain.
Oh what a wonderful thrill
To go through a tunnel or up a hill!
Oh what fun to ride a train
I could do it every day.
Most people like to take a plane
But as for me I love the train!
Venting
I need a little crying time
A little '' tell me whying'' time
And just a tad of sighing time
And then I'll be ok!
I need a little vent ing time
A bit of ''what I meanting'' time
And a wee bit of repenting time
And I 'll be back on track!
I'm just a bit frustrated
And the world looks rather bleak
But I need to get my head on straight
Before I try to speak.
So I'll just sit and sob a bit
And then I will feel all better
And if sniffling doesn't work
I'll write myself a letter.
All the problems of the day
When left alone to fester
Just keep on piling up
And continue to plague and pester!
So just ignore me if I seem to whine
And let me let off a bit of steam
Because even though I'm a bit perturbed
I know it's not as bad as it seems!
I'm determined not to stay
In this negative, downer, moody way
And ere the sun comes up tomorrow
I'll be through with all my sorrow!
So go ahead and make some plans
For fun things for us to do
For once the night is over
I'll be as good as new!
We Have Not Changed Enough (On The First Anniversary Of 9/11)
On that September day
Only one year ago
Harshest of reality
Dealt us an awful blow.
For a moment families drew nearer
And realized as never before
That loved ones were even dearer
And they loved them even more.
Citizens huddled together
On that awful day
And little children stopped to look
And could not bear to play.
Country clung to country
And united against one foe
Each one wanted to offer help
To keep freedom's torch aglow.
But through the months that followed
Evil men in our country carried out
Horrendous acts against our children
The worst things we could read about.
People continue to rob and steal
And hurt each other as before
Where is that unity of love
From the day we went to war?
Does patriotism only show it's face
When we are covered with ashes and dust
Can't we understand that every day
Being compassionate is a must?
Traitors still sell secrets
Over the internet
And perverts still email little kids
That they have never met.
Did we really change at all
On that fateful day?
Are our hearts any different?
What would the Father say?
Parents teach your children
The difference between right and wrong
Teach them about the love and trust
That in a family belongs.
Children look to your parents
As the ones who love you best
Love them and honor them
And by God you will be blessed.
Look around dear friends
And see if you agree
Do you see the changes
That we would love to see?
For if we have changed at all
We have not changed enough
For change is not really change
If displayed only when the going gets tough!
Oh Lord, we ask you to bless our land
And make us from now on to be
A land worthy to be blessed by You
As the land of the brave and free!
Wild Hair
When I am all dressed up and stuffy
In a dress all starched and puffy
My hair is all shiny and neat
And I stand firmly on both feet.
But when I'm doing what I like best
And in my playclothes I am dressed,
Sometimes my hair runs wild and free
And throws itself away from me!
Sometimes I like the puffy look
And am content to read a book
But other times I like to be
Just like my hair...wild and free!!!
