School

School Friends

In my gallery of friends
Each of you come into view
Making me feel fortunate
To have friends like you.

Though we go our separate ways
And eventually all of us will part.
Memories of our happy times as classmates
Will linger in each heart.

The School Rule

At our house we have a rule
A kid can't stay home from school
Unless he's sick or almost dyin'
There's no use in even tryin'!

A tummy ache keeps some kids free
But that doesn't work - no not for me!
Nor does an earache or throat that's sore
It has to be worse...oh so much more!

At our house we sometimes try
And we may whine and we may cry
But it is the general rule
A kid has gotta go to school!!

Our mom says school is good for us
And puts us on that yellow bus
Whether it is raining, sleeting or snowing
It's pretty sure that to school we are going!

She says that someday we will be glad
For all the schooling that we've had
But for now I'd love a day
To skip school to stay home and play!!

Too Many Rules

I had to go to school today
But they didn't let us play!
They made us listen to all they said
When I wanted to play instead!

The teacher told us
What we couldn't do
A million rules
Before she was through!

I knew all kinds of brand new games
And learned all of the new kids' names.
But teacher came and rang a bell
And had us do a ''show and tell''.

But when you share
You only talk for a minute
And there's one little room
And you must stay in it!

There's all kinds of neat stuff outside
A few swings and also a slide.
But inside is where I have to stay
For most of the whole school day!

All in all school might be nice
If I could go just once or twice
But how can it be really cool
If I have to obey every RULE!!!

Your Special Day

We have watched you
Throughout this last year.
You were so brave
And showed no fear
You jumped right in
And tried all things new
In a way that is so especially  you!
You have learned so much
And grown in every way
And we are proud to honor you
On your special Graduation Day!
