A Little Boy's Prayer

Help me God to be today
A really good sport In every way.

I know that winning can be fun
And would love to be once Number One!

But deep inside this heart of mine
I only want what you design.

So as I kneel before you now
I ask you Lord to show me how--

How to run a race or play a game
Where win or lose, I feel the same.

Help me to cheer the others on
And keep me from jealousy so wrong.

Help me to cheer when they're ahead
And feel happiness for them instead.

So Lord please let my heart be able to enjoy
The trophy going to some other boy.

And please Father, let them see
That it really is alright with me?

For whether on the field or in the crowd
I want to make my parents proud!

Daddy Went Out Bowling

Daddy went out bowling
And got a strike or two
Sad he would have gotten more
If it were not for his shoes!

Daddy went out bowling
And got a gutter ball
Said it would have been a strike
If not for the cell phone call.

Daddy went out bowling
And joined up a league
Would have had a perfect game
If not for the fatigue!

Daddy went out bowling
And got a nearly perfect score
Said if it were not for the noise
He would have gotten more!

Daddy went out bowling
And had the greatest day
Said that having me along
Made everything ok!
