Weddings

Bride

Daddy, I see you standing there
Waiting for me to come to you.
I pause only a moment in
This day my dreams come true.

I look at your dear face and then
My face permits a little grin
For there is a tear upon your cheek
And if I don't smile, I know I'll weep.

As I look at you, I can tell
That memories are going
through your mind as well.
You see my smile and you smile too
Oh the wonderfulness of you!

The wedding march begins to play
And I clutch my bridal bouquet
How I would love to know what is in your mind
Wonderful, dear, loving Father of mine!

For My Daughter

My Daughter, I see you looking so beautiful
As I wait for you to join me here
As I look at your radiant face
My eyes release a tear.

So many memories
are flooding my mind
Dearest, adorable, loving
daughter of mine.

I see you as a baby
So sweet in your bed
Then with ponytails
Springing out of your head!

I see you with toys
And sandboxes and such
All through your life
I've loved you so much!

Now today I am expected
To be strong and say
That yes, I agree
To give you away.

I see you so bravely
Hold your bouquet
As we walk together
On your special day.

I pray my sweet daughter
That you life will be
Blessed wth the kind of joy
That you brought to me.

But remember my child
Whatever you do
And wherever life leads you
I'm here for you!

For Our Parents

We are here today because of you
And all the things you've taught us
And where we are in life's journey today
It is your love that has brought us.

For our Moms and Dads please understand
That your love for us we treasure
And we return that love to you
As love beyond all measure!

The love we share with each other
Today as man and wife
Is possible for the two of us
Because of your example in our lives.

So today we raise our glass to you
And toast the ones we love so dearly
Thanking you for helping us
To see the good things of life more clearly.

From God's Balcony

Do you think that from God's balcony
In Heaven up above
That mothers are allowed to view
The children that they love?

I think to think that everytime
A bride walks down the aisle
A mother who has gone ahead
Looks down at her and smiles.

I like to think she watches
As the couple says I do
And is filled with joy and happiness
When she sees a love that's true.

If God allows this miracle
Of hope and joy and love
Then you know that your mom will be watching
From Heavens portals up above.

But should this not be possible
I know this to be true
That God himself and all his angels
Are watching over you!

If Women Wrote The Men's Wedding Vows

With this ring
I thee wed
And promise to serve you
Breakfast in bed.

All my love
I to thee entrust
I'll drive with windows up
So your hair will never muss...

And if we should have kids
I'll rock them to sleep
And allow you some shut eye
So your good nature will keep.

I'll promise to diaper and bottle them too
For my darling, my sweetheart
Nothing is too good for you!

I will help do the dishes
And if this marriage will last
The least thing I could do is
To keep your car filled with gas!

I know that you are working
And should tiredness upon you creep
I'll cook dinner and to the dishes
So you can take a load off of your feet.

I promise that your stash of scrapping goodies
Need not ever end.
You can order from the internet
Or CK on QVC
Just buy what you want and charge it to me.

So with this ring I promise you
To make every dream of yours come true.
And I'll just be greatful all my life
That I found you to be my wife!

Renewing My Vows To You

Fifty years ago when we were wed
Sweet and loving vows we said
I promised that my whole life through
To you my love, I would be true.

Years have gone by
And I still feel
That the love we share
Is just as real.

We have shared the good times
As well as the bad
We have celebrated in happy times
And clung together in the sad.

We have become closer each year
Becoming more ''us ''and ''we''
Growing closer every day
And feeling less just ''you'' or ''me.''

I have no problem with wondering
Just where I stop and you begin
For 50 years ago I married my soul mate
My sweetheart and my best friend.

And with no hesitation in my heart
I cherish the renewal of my vow to you
To love you and cherish you my love
And spend the rest of my lifetime with you!

The Dress

It can't be just any dress
It must be white and feminine
And dainty as a petal
On the most fragile flower
It's memory will linger for a lifetime
From a ceremony that lasts a hour.

It must be tightly fitted
On the bride's tiny waist
And must yield softly to the touch
Of the grooms loving gentle embrace.
And must stir the emotions of
Each little girl in sight
Instilling in her the dream of someday
Being the bride all dressed in white...

The Wedding Car

The car was decorated for the bride and groom
Just waiting for their honeymoon.
Tin cans rattled and clanged and dangled...
Some were new and some were mangled.

Words were painted on the windows in white
So that they would show up at night.
Ribbons were tied into fancy bows
And who did it all....goodness knows!

The bride and groom came out of the church
And laughed when they saw the outrageous car.
We all laughed so hard when....who knew it?
They drove off in the car NEXT TO IT!

The Legend Of The Wedding Ring

In a far off country many centuries ago.
A kind young king was married to a princess he loved.

Together they lived happily
Until they learned one day that duties were to force
The king to journey far away.

One night, before he left,
He tossed some pebbles into a moonlit pool
On the palace grounds
As he sat thinking of his lovely Queen.

Something wonderful occurred to him
As the lovely ripples widened,
From where the little pebbles had fallen.

The next day,
Remembering the glistening circles he had seen,
He had a gold ring made
To fit the finger of his Queen.

“There is no ending or beginning
To the circle of this band.”
The King said as he slipped it on her finger.
“And that is why I have chosen this golden ring
To be a pledge to you.
My love will last through all eternity.”

And so, since that time,
A golden ring has been a symbol
Of the beauty of devotion.
And the beauty of the endlessness of love.
